Roof replacement · Oregon, Curtice & Toledo

Roof replacement, deck to ridge.

A new roof is a system, not a pile of shingles. We tear off to the deck, fix what is under it, and build it back up. We recommend the full Atlas system, which carries the longest full-coverage warranty Atlas offers, and we will quote a lower-cost roof next to it so you can choose. Every roof gets our own 10-year labor warranty. Homes across Oregon, Curtice, Toledo and NW Ohio.

The deck

We walk every sheet. Soft or rotten wood gets replaced before anything goes over it, and you see the photos.

1
Ice & water shield

A self-sealing membrane along the eaves (and in valleys), where ice dams push meltwater back up under shingles every Toledo winter. Atlas WeatherMaster®.

2
Synthetic underlayment

Covers the entire deck, not just the bottom row. A second roof under your roof. Atlas Summit® or Gorilla Guard®.

3
Starter shingles

A sealed first row at the edge, so wind cannot get under the bottom course and peel it back. Atlas Pro-Cut® HP42®.

4
Shingles

Atlas Pinnacle® Pristine architectural shingles with 3M™ Scotchgard™ Protector against black algae streaks. Rated for 130 mph winds with four nails.

5
Ridge vent

Lets hot, wet attic air out at the peak. A roof over an attic that cannot breathe is not covered by Atlas, so this part is not optional. Atlas TruRidge® or HighPoint®.

6
Hip & ridge caps

The last piece on, and the one the lifetime algae warranty depends on. Atlas Pro-Cut® with Scotchgard™.

The warranty, in plain English

Same shingles. Five more years of full coverage.

Atlas warrants its shingles two ways. A shingle-only install gets the standard warranty. A roof built from the full Atlas system and registered gets Signature Select®, and the difference is how long Atlas pays for labor and materials in full, with no prorating.

“Lifetime” means yours, not the roof’s. It runs as long as you own the house. After year 50, coverage continues at a 10% proration factor.

Selling the house? The warranty can transfer once, to the next owner, in the first 10 years. The fee is $100, filed with Atlas within 60 days of the sale. It adds value at closing.

Storms are insurance, not warranty. Atlas covers manufacturing defects. Hail, and wind beyond the rating, are excluded, and that is what your homeowner’s policy is for. How storm claims work.

Own a rental, church or LLC property? Those get Atlas’s commercial Signature Select warranty: 50 years, with the same 15 years of full coverage. Commercial roofing.

Repair or replace?

An honest answer, with photos.

Jay or Devon walks the roof and shows you what they found. If a repair will buy you years, we will tell you, and most of our work comes from people we told exactly that.

Usually a repair

  • A few missing or creased shingles after wind
  • A leak around one pipe boot, vent or chimney
  • Flashing that has lifted or rusted
  • A roof under 15 years old with one problem spot

Usually time to replace

  • Curling, cracked or bald shingles across a whole slope
  • Granules piling up in the gutters
  • Leaks in more than one place
  • Soft spots when you walk the deck
  • A roof past 20 years, or a second layer already on it

Replacement day

What happens, start to finish.

  1. Protect

Tarps over landscaping, plywood against the house, a dumpster in the drive.confirm

  2. Tear off

Every old layer comes off to the bare deck. We never shingle over a roof.confirm

  3. Fix the deck

Rotten sheets replaced with new 7/16″ OSB at $50 a sheet, or bad 1x6 boards on older homes at $8 a foot, and you see the photos first.

  4. Build the system

Ice & water, underlayment, starter, shingles, vent and caps, to Atlas’s instructions.

  5. Clean up

Magnet sweep for nails across the yard and drive, dumpster gone the same day.confirm

FAQ

Questions we get

How much does a new roof cost around Toledo?
It comes down to five things: the size of the roof (measured in squares, 100 square feet each; many homes here are around 25), how steep it is, how many layers come off, how much rotten decking is underneath, and which roof you choose, the full Atlas system or a lower-cost shingle roof. The free inspection gets you a written, line-item price for both options, and Hearth financing turns it into a monthly payment you can check without affecting your credit score.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most homes are done in one day; big or steep roofs take two or three.confirm John M. on Facebook: “they were able to fit me in on Sunday, completed the job that day.”
Do you put new shingles over the old ones?
No. We tear off to the deck on every replacement, so we can see the wood and the roof qualifies for the full Atlas warranty.confirm
What if you find rotten wood under the shingles?
We photograph it, replace only the damaged sheets with new 7/16″ OSB, and charge $50 a sheet. Older homes often have 1x6 boards under the shingles instead of sheets; bad boards are $8 a foot. No surprise change orders.
What warranty comes with my roof?
It depends on the roof you choose. On the full Atlas Signature Select® system we recommend, the first 15 years cover labor, materials, tear-off and disposal in full, then lifetime limited coverage. A shingle-only roof gets Atlas’s standard warranty: 10 years of full coverage, then lifetime limited. Either way, OnPoint covers the workmanship for 10 years.
Is the full Atlas system worth the extra cost?
If you plan to stay in the house, usually. It adds five years of full coverage, and during those years Atlas also pays for tear-off and disposal, the expensive part of a re-roof. If budget is tight, we quote a lower-cost roof next to it and show you exactly what the difference buys. Your call, no pressure.
Can you replace a roof in winter?
Yes, on dry days above about freezing. Atlas shingles self-seal in the sun; in cold months that may not happen, so Atlas’s instructions call for hand-sealing them at install, and we doconfirm.
Do roofers in Ohio need a license?
Not from the state. Ohio licenses trades like electrical, plumbing and HVAC, but it has no statewide roofing license; cities set their own rules. OnPoint JD meets the City of Toledo’s contractor requirements and is fully insured with workers’ comp. Whoever you hire, ask for a certificate of insurance before work starts. We send ours on request.
Will insurance pay for my roof?
If a storm damaged it, often yes. We document the damage with photos and give you what your adjuster asks for. The claim itself stays between you and your insurance company. How storm claims work.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, through Hearth. One two-minute application, multiple lenders compete, and checking your options does not affect your credit score. You can check your monthly payment options now.
